Cautious
Crazy how all I ever wanted was the opportunity to get to know you. The real you, the raw you, the unfiltered, unguarded, and honest you. But you wouldn't let me in. Too afraid that what we shared was just a facade waiting to fall apart at the first sign of change. Not knowing, rather not believing, I am not foolish enough to play those kind of games. Your energy. My energy. They blend like a fierce wind hitting a flame. But instead of that heat pulling you in, it kept you at bay. Watching, waiting, lurking . . . in the dark hoping the flames would dissipate. And even though the flame kept burning and the wind never tamed, you decided it was safe to just walk away . . . Cautious.
